Designer, mum and scifi fan

I'm a seasoned design leader, running my own creative consultancy Okra Design since 2020 after leaving a full time job. I am an interaction designer by training.

Over the last 17 years, as my projects got more complex, I expanded into Service Design, Strategy, and Organisational Design. During this time I have helped Fortune 500 companies as well as startups create bold new strategies that respond to changing tech and customer needs.

I have built products and teams, created bespoke training programs to upskill industry leaders on Innovation, run accelerator programs for the UK government advising 30+ innovators. After years in consulting I learned a lot and wanted to work with smaller impactful organisations, helping their leaders unlock the potential of Design. In the last four years I have done some of the most interesting work of my life: from launching products helping farmers be more climate resilient, to redesigning and launching a fintech product in service to SMEs, to creating better care experiences for cancer patients and as well as helping large firms create processes to foster innovation from within.

During the last 4 years I also created the flexibility to start a family and make time for things that matter. As someone who is not drawn to a typical career progression I have always chosen an interesting problem over a big title and have known to be a "hands-on leader" working side by side with my teams. Running a small studio has also taught me invaluable lessons and new skills.

I always love to explore new territories for design and learn.
